Principal's Message

Dear Parents/Guardians

My name is Chris Haynes, and I am the Principal of Liberty Hill Academy. The 2017-2018 school year will be my second year serving the students, parents, faculty and staff, and community of LHA. Liberty Hill Academy is Charleston County's K-8th grade Day Treatment Program and Alternative school. We currently serve approximately 100 students who need academic and behavioral supports to be successful in a traditional school environment.

Our school hours this year have changed. School will begin at 9:15am and end at 4:15 pm.

I am very excited about the improvements that we are making to our school and educational programs. Our focus this year is to continue to offer the therapeutic supports and wrap-around services for our students while at the same time increasing academic rigor and success in all of our students.

We are reaching out to parents to develop more parent involvement with their student's educational process. We are seeking parent volunteers for several different programs in the building. We are also going to be asking fathers and positive males to serve as a part of our WATCH D.O.G.S (Dads of Great Students) program. With the beginning of the 2017-2018 school year approaching, we are reaching out to numerous community members to involve them in the educational process at Liberty Hill. We have been developing mentor programs to bring positive mentors into our schools to work with our students. These include professional mentors as well as faith-based volunteers. All of our students will participate in a community service learning project prior to being restored to their Home-School.

We look forward to serving you and your child this year. Please contact me with any questions or concerns.
